Football Camp
Starr’s Mill High School
will be hosting its’ tenth annual football camp
June 2-5 for any young man grades 2-8. The camp will
concentrate on the basic fundamentals of the game. Topics
to be covered include: quarterback play, running backs
play, lineman skills, and linebacker and defensive back
techniques. Campers will also receive instruction on
other areas of the game of football such as weight-training,
proper nutrition, proper practice mechanics and speed
enhancing drill work.
The camp will be under the direction of the Starr’s
Mill High School Football Staff. Since 2000, the Starr’s
Mill football program has won three region championships
and has been to the state play-offs six times and reached
the Elite Eight in 2005 and 2006. Each of the Starr’s
Mill position coaches will serve as camp instructors.
Collectively, the staff has well over 1 century of coaching
experience. The camp is designed to give the participants
a maximum number of drill periods on all phases of the
game. Participants will be divided into small groups
to increase the improvement opportunities and the individual
instruction. If you would like your son to have the
opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football and
lay the foundation for a future champion, please fill
out the attached application and return it to Starr’s
Mill High School promptly.

in the AATF-National French Exam. A total of 103 Starr’s
Mill students took the exam this year and they had remarkable
results.

Contest. Of the 20 students that wrote essays for the
contest, 19 of them placed!

Contest. These students went to Northview High School
on Saturday, April 19, 2008, and did a wonderful job
of representing their school!

Notice of Right to Know Teacher Qualifications
As required by the No Child Left Behind Act, the Fayette
County School System advises parents that they may request,
and the school will provide in a timely manner, information
regarding the professional qualifications of your child's
classroom teachers, including the following:
1. Whether the teacher has met state
certification criteria for the grade levels and subject
areas in which the teacher provides instruction.
2. Whether the teacher is teaching under
emergency or provisional status through which state
certification has been waived.
3. The degrees earned by the teacher and
the field of certification or degree.
4. Whether the child is provided services
by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
